Thank you for being with us!
CORBON 2016 and 2017 (the two edtions of the workshop on Coreference Resolution Beyond OntoNotes) attempted to revive the idea of a regular workshop related to all aspects of anaphora, reference and coreference after the last DAARC in 2011 and CoNLL 2012 shared task on Modeling Multilingual Unrestricted Coreference in OntoNotes. In 2018 the workshop was renamed to CRAC (Computational Models of Reference, Anaphora, and Coreference). In 2025 it was held with CODI, the 6th Workshop on Computational Approaches to Discourse.
Both workshops were co-located with the best NLP conferences:
- NAACL 2016 (San Diego, June 16, 2016)
- EACL 2017 (Valencia, Spain, April 4, 2017)
- NAACL 2018 (New Orleans, June 6, 2018)
- NAACL 2019 (Minneapolis, June 7, 2019)
- COLING 2020 (online, December 12, 2020)
- EMNLP 2021 (online, November 11, 2021)
- COLING 2022 (Gyeongju, Republic of Korea, October 16–17, 2022)
- EMNLP 2023 (Singapore, December 6–7, 2023)
- EMNLP 2024 (Miami, November 15, 2024)
- EMNLP 2025 (Suzhow, Novemnber 5–9, 2025)
Over the years, this workshop series has successfully organized five shared tasks, which stimulated interest in new problems in its area of research, facilitated the discussion and dissemination of results on new problems/directions (e.g., multimodal reference resolution), and helped expand the coreference community that used to be dominated by European researchers to include researchers from the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
